Canberra Balloon Spectacular

One of the most anticipated events in the Canberra calendar. Canberra Balloon Spectacular is Australia’s longest-running hot air ballooning festival, celebrating the awe-inspiring beauty of balloons in flight. In 2025 the event has been elevated and is again its own distinct festival, offering a magical experience for all attendees. Witness the magnificent sight of vibrant hot air balloons filling the skies across the city’s skyline, creating breathtaking views.

Returning to John Dunmore Lang Place in 2025, balloons will begin to inflate at 6:00 am on Patrick White Lawns, with the majority of balloons launched by 7:00am. Enjoy a delicious breakfast as the balloons lift off, with a number of food and coffee carts open until 9:30am. This is a free event, and you are welcome to bring your own chairs and watch the balloons ascend and traverse the dawn sky.
